Disadvantages: The cost is relatively high, the process is more complex, and professional equipment and technical personnel are required to operate. If the coating is damaged, it may accelerate the corrosion of the base metal.
Electroless plating
Principle: Use a chemical reaction to deposit a layer of metal or alloy coating on the surface of the metal badge without the need for an external power supply. For example, electroless nickel plating is in a solution containing nickel salts, through reducing agents to reduce nickel ions and deposit on the surface of the badge.
Advantages: Uniform coating can be obtained on badges with complex shapes and irregular surfaces, and the dispersion of the bath is good. The coating has good corrosion resistance and wear resistance, and high chemical stability.
Disadvantages: The cost of the bath is high, the service life is limited, and it needs to be replaced regularly. The requirements for pre-treatment of plating parts are higher, otherwise the binding force of coating will be affected.

How it works: A coat of paint or paint is applied to the surface of the badge to form a physical barrier that prevents oxygen, water and other corrosive substances from coming into contact with the metal.
Advantages: The operation is relatively simple, the cost is low, the paint of different colors and gloss can be selected according to the need, and the decoration is strong. Badges can be constructed on site and are suitable for badges of various sizes and shapes.
Disadvantages: The paint layer may be damaged or fall off due to friction, collision and other reasons, and it needs to be checked and repaired regularly. Some paints may age and fade in long-term exposure to sunlight or harsh environments, affecting the protective effect and aesthetics.
Passivation treatment
Principle: The metal badge is immersed in a specific passivation liquid to form a passivation film on the surface of the metal, which can improve the corrosion resistance of the metal and inhibit the further oxidation of the metal. For example, stainless steel badges are often passivated with a mixture of nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid.
Advantages: The processing process is relatively simple and the cost is low. It can improve corrosion resistance without changing the appearance size of the badge, especially for badges with high precision requirements.
Disadvantages: The protective capacity of passivation film is limited, and for some corrosive environments, it may be necessary to use in combination with other protective measures. Different metal materials require different passivation fluids and treatment processes, which need to be adjusted according to the specific situation.
Apply anti-rust oil
Principle: Coat the surface of the badge with a layer of anti-rust oil to form an oil film, isolate air and moisture, and prevent metal rust. The corrosion inhibitor in the anti-rust oil can also form a protective film on the metal surface to inhibit the occurrence of corrosion reactions.
Advantages: Easy to operate, low cost, for some short-term protection or small batch badge protection is more suitable. Anti-rust oil can be applied and replaced at any time for easy maintenance.
Disadvantages: The oil film is easy to be contaminated with dust and impurities, affecting the appearance of the badge, and in a high temperature or humid environment, the anti-rust oil may be lost or deteriorated, and it needs to be replenished and replaced regularly. After long-term use, the removal of anti-rust oil can be troublesome.
